Job Description

Do you like to work with new open-source technologies and to help ensure stable connectivity between the data center and our worldwide portfolio of material handling systems? Would you like to join an international organisation where we already work with data analytics and machine learning projects? Join BEUMER Group and exploit the chance to innovate, develop and test concepts for products and tools and most importantly, develop your own skill.

You will team up with colleagues, so you can share and grow your knowledge within the data engineering field.

Join our Customer Diagnostics Center

You become part of our Data Analytics department, which is part of our Customer Diagnostics Center (CDC). In the CDC, which is part of our Customer Support division, we are tasked with making sure our installed base of systems around the globe are healthy and running smoothly.

Here, you join a new, small and agile team of data engineers and data scientists. In the CDC, you will find a multitude of skills and competences, and we enjoy an informal atmosphere where we combine our strengths to create brand new solutions for colleagues and customers. Moreover, you become part of a data analytics forum where we work closely with universities to expand our knowledge.

Take ownership for data collection

Together with the Data Engineering team you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our existing data pipelines. Additionally, we are constantly developing new solutions, that require us to rethink, modify or upgrade our existing infrastructure and setup. Your tasks will include:

  • Monitor existing data pipelines and verify the integrity of collected data
  • Create new data pipelines – from customer site all the way into the data center
  • Maintain our compute infrastructure helping our servers to stay in top shape
  • Participate in the evaluation of and subsequent implementation of new processes and tooling to improve data collection
  • Setup cloud-based solutions for our end customers as well as facilitate the direct communication with these customers

We have a strong preference for open-source software and are working with tools such as Tensorflow, the ELK stack, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Python, Java, R, Shiny and Jupyter notebooks. The majority of our servers runs Linux OS so it is important to be able to work with this platform.

Are you newly graduated or experienced with software?

You thrive with a combination of independent work and team work. Fixed routines are part of the job, but we also welcome and encourage the initiative to implement improvements. Most important to this role is that you have a good all-round technical foundation, allowing you to implement software, configure tools, understand our domain and be a sounding board in the creative process. To do so, we also imagine that you:

  • Has a relevant education within software, e.g. a master's degree as a computer scientist or similar.
  • Has the interest to grow your knowledge about data collection – any experience with data analysis is a plus.
  • Has relevant experience with administering Windows and Linux based systems
  • Speak and write English fluently and it is a big plus if you understand Danish as well.
