As a step-in building talent for the future we are now looking for an Assistant to our Purchasing Development Manager, Robert Olsson.

Job Description

This position is a great opportunity to work within IKEA Purchasing Development and gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire IKEA value chain, as well as how each part of the organization is interconnected. As a key member of the Purchasing Development Management team, you will experience a dynamic work environment, where no day looks like the other, giving you a unique insight in the responsibilities of a Purchasing Development Manager daily work-life. This experience, along with the knowledge and networks gained, will serve as an excellent foundation for future career growth within IKEA!

You will be working with the following tasks: 

  • Coordinate and plan activities within the Yearly Calendar for Purchasing Development
  • Lead various projects and deliver to assigned business projects
  • Monitor and follow up on key implementation activities in Purchasing Development, secure ambition level and progress
  • In close co-operation with Purchasing Development Manager, be part of the Purchasing Development Management meetings, and other forums in order to support and get an understanding of the organisation and the interfaces with the rest of IKEA.
  • Represent Purchasing Development Management in selected forums, both internally and externally
  • Act as communicative and administrative support to the Purchasing Development Manager and Deputy Purchasing Development Manager
  • Play a key role in the alignment of agendas and initiatives for Purchasing Development Manager and Deputy Purchasing Development Manager

Qualifications

About you
As a Management Assistant to Purchasing Development Manager, we see that you have experience of working within IKEA and have a solid understanding of IKEAs value chain. You are strategic and have a holistic approach, but equally interested in understanding and supporting the Purchasing Development Manager in operational tasks. You are a true ambassador of the IKEA values and have a broad interest in the IKEA value chain and how all parts are instrumental to drive change for the IKEA direction. As a self-starter, you are capable of navigating and leading questions forward, in a complex and fast paced environment, and positively influence ideas that will grow IKEA.

For you to be successful in the role we believe that you: 

  • Have profound project management, facilitation and leadership experience
  • Are a very pragmatic and solution-oriented person, with ability to build trustful relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Have strong analytical capabilities and skills to plan your agenda and prioritize between multiple tasks at the same time
  • Feel comfortable selecting relevant information to boil it down to what is essential and communicate them in a simple way

Additional Information

On this role, you will report directly to Purchasing Development Manager, you will get exposed to Purchasing Development management teams and get involved to different parts of the organisation.
