Airborne Solutions Australia provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force as the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, and a search-and rescue capability across nearly 10 percent of the earth's surface under contract to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Mission aircrew play a critical role in our civil surveillance and search and rescue operations. Our missions are diverse and require a high level of communication and teamwork.

The types of mission aircrew roles we have available are:

  • Electronic Observers (Airborne Surveillance) - based out of our Cairns, Darwin and Broome bases.
  • Visual Observers (Search-and-Rescue) - based out of our Cairns, Essendon and Perth bases.

Qualifications

Unlike many job opportunities in aviation that require extensive certification and experience, mission aircrew roles can generally be filled by people from any career stream or industry, who are looking for a new opportunity or challenge.

Additional Information

Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. In certain circumstances this can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.
