It has been active in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982. The ICRC works closely with the Philippine Red Cross, its primary partner in the country.

Job Description

  • Drives different types of ICRC vehicles (manual or automatic) while strictly following internal security rules and national traffic rules
  • Transports people and/or materials safely to their destination
  • Reports to the Logistics Site Manager any irregularities noticed in the vehicle, traffic accidents, security incidents or problems on the road
  • Ensures proper refueling and cleaning of vehicles
  • Loads and unloads goods on attributed vehicle

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ professional driving experience
  • High school diploma or college-level education
  • Valid professional driver’s license for at least 5 years
  • Knowledge on vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Knowledge of 4x4 driving skills and use of VHF radios
  • Awareness of traffic rules and regulations
  • Good geographical knowledge of Zamboanga City and other locations in Mindanao province.
  • Good English comprehension and communication skills; knowledge of Chavacano or Bisaya an advantage
  • Awareness of, and respect for, professional and institutional ethics, particularly with respect to confidentiality
