    Job Description

    As a Senior 3D Artist, your role is to create and re-invent 3D assets on projects, collaborate with different disciplines, and be responsible for the artistic quality on projects - ensuring the best visual results for our players and the client. 

    Responsibilities 

    • Create high quality 3D assets for organic and hard surface environmental elements and props. 
    • Work with the Art Director and team leads to ensure artistic consistency and quality is reached. 
    • Give creative and technical direction and feedback on 3D art created by in-house and external artists. 
    • Document and maintain visual and technical 3D art guidelines. 
    • Interpret and address client feedback on artwork, ensuring the art meets client and player expectations. 
    • Confidently communicate with other disciplines, including tech art, animation, design and engineering, to facilitate solutions that push the project forward. 
    • Diagnose and effectively problem solve issues independently and in collaboration with other artists or departments. 
    • Optimize meshes and materials for performance while maintaining a high level of visual quality. 
    • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
    • Export and implement assets in engine. 
    • Test and verify work on target hardware.

    • Research and explore new technologies and techniques and keep up-to-date with the latest trends in game development. 
    • Share learnings and best practices, workflows and new tools with the wider team.

    Requirements 

    • Approx. 5+ years of Games Industry or Feature Film experience. 
    • Extensive experience in art content creation. 
    • Strong attention to detail, able to multi-task and adapt to change. 
    • Strong artistic eye and deep understanding of art and animation pipelines. 
    • Experience with industry-standard 3D packages – Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, ZBrush – with expert level experience in at least one. 
    • Experience with industry-standard texturing packages – Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Adobe Photoshop – with expert level experience in at least one.  
    • Current development experience with Unity, UE4 or UE5. 
    • A passion for games, an interest and awareness in the latest trends, tools, technology and approaches in creating content. 
    • Strong time management and problem-solving skills. 
    • Effective communication skills. 

    Bonus Skills 

    • Proficiency in scripting and coding in one or more of the following - Python, C#, C++, HLSL, MEL, MaxScript. 
    • Skills and interest in any of the following areas - Shader development, Character rigging, Pipeline and tool development, Procedural asset generation, VFX / Particles, Lighting, Real-time physics simulations, Real-time rendering and post-effects, Asset optimisation and performance profiling. 
    • Experience in AAA game development. 
    • Familiarity with Maya API. 
    • Experience with Houdini and Substance Designer. 
    • Experience with console development – Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. 
    • Traditional art / drawing / painting / photography skills.

    Our recruitment process typically consists of an initial review of your application and if suitable followed with a Teams or Phone interview. For those selected to progress further it may include an online assessment, and two interviews which can be conducted onsite or remote.
