Indirect Procurement organization (Category Area Indirect Procurement) is part of Purchasing Development and has received the task to operate across the Inter IKEA Group companies, between all three core businesses (Franchise / Supply /Range). Our ambition is to secure the best possible prerequisites for Inter IKEA Group to handle the new world, at the same time fulfilling the future needs of partnership and supplier innovations within Digital, Professional Services & Facility Management and Machinery & Energy.

Category description

The Category Machinery & Energy has ~7 000 suppliers delivering business critical production equipment and renewable electricity to our stakeholders.

The sites we supply, as well as our supplier base, has an international scope with the point of gravity in Europe.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As Business Developer, you will drive negotiations of large-scale complex renewable electricity agreements - PPAs, where you, together with the IKEA team, will secure the best buy for IKEA. Moreover, you will be the primary commercial interface towards global renewable electricity suppliers, execute category strategies and segment plans to support the Inter IKEA Group on a global level. You will be responsible to drive, RFQ, supplier selections, build supplier relations and secure/develop/negotiate best terms and conditions. An important part of your role is to build trustful relations also with internal business partners and together you will develop the business. You will contribute to the agenda of securing 100% renewable electricity for Inter IKEA Group globally and be important contributor to project renewable electricity for supply partners.

You also can expect to:

  • Develop partnership with internal stakeholders – engage and collaborate with the internal stakeholders on the tactical / strategical tasks, adding value by having IKEA holistic approach.
  • Develop and manage partnership with suppliers – You develop and manage the supplier base. Together with the suppliers, you create, implement, and follow-up the action plans, having in mind the compliance, sustainability and total cost approach.
  • Develop entrepreneurial approach - You have the courage to question existing solutions and think in unconventional ways. To move forward, you will collaborate with the many and navigate in the unknown.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, below competences are important for you.

  • Renewable energy market commercial knowledge – experience with negotiating renewable electricity contracts – PPAs.
  • You know economics and finance – Understanding of company financials: cash flow, P&L, income statements and cost breakdowns.
  • Passion for business and the end-goal – Both will come in handy when negotiating with suppliers, where you are to be strict but fair. A solution-oriented person, concentrating on problem solving the regular business issues.
  • The art of dealing with people – empathy and great communication skills to coordinate your micro-team. This comes in handy when collaborating  with suppliers and stakeholders in the IKEA supply chain.
  • Analytical skills - working with numbers, negotiating prices, or setting priorities for your work, in a usually high paced and demanding environment.
  • An interest in renewable energy and discovering the latest technologies in that sector.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. You are comfortable in presenting and engaging with stakeholders at all levels

Additional Information

This position will be based in Älmhult, Sweden or Warsaw, Poland. Travelling is a part of the assignment and it’s up to 20% of time. The selection process will take place continuously, so please send in your application in English as soon as possible but latest 10.11.2023.
