Job Description

The Import Export Officer ensures that all import, export and domestic transport of goods are moved in accordance with ICRC's standards and procedures and local legislation. This role will also manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods in and through the ICRC's Manila warehouse.

  • Obtains the exemptions and permits for and ensures the timely clearance of all ICRC imported goods
  • Receives and expedites freight in and out of the country in collaboration with external commercial partners
  • Ensures that the latest customs regulations are communicated and applied
  • Manages the domestic transport of all goods within the Philippines
  • Maintains all physical and electronic files of import, export and transport documents according to ICRC standards and Philippine regulations
  • Manages the performance of external providers such as freight forwarders and transporters
  • Ensures that goods are received, stored and dispatched according to procedure
     

Qualifications

  • University degree in logistics and supply chain management, business or any related field of study
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in import and export operations/warehousing/transport; licensed customs broker is preferred
  • Previous experience in humanitarian work is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the processes, procedures and relevant government rulings related to import and export
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office applications)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated ability to work under high-stress and in conflict areas
  • Must have good negotiation and influencing skills
