We have the production muscle to produce high- quality animation in a wide variety of styles including 2D, 3D, Motion Design, Stop-Motion, VFX and Combination Live-Action. We work with an experienced team of artists in-house at our Montreal studio as well as partner Directors N’ Animators around the world. We are a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural (often trilingual) team united by passion for the craft.

Job Description

The Head of Production is responsible for the operations of the advertising department. The Head of Production oversees all aspects of production from planning to execution, ensuring that production goals, quotas and schedule parameters are met and/or revised as needed. The person is managing the production coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assign producers to their project and supervise all components of a project within the team (resource needs, budgets, ideation, legal, contracts, scheduling, profitability).
  • Assist Producers in establishing budgets and validate them before requesting final approval from the Executive Producer and support Producers in the creation of schedules, in the search for the most flexible and appropriate production strategy for the project.
  • Provide budget and schedule estimates for all new projects' requests.
  • Lead the development of projects and ensure that deliverables are delivered on time and to the required quality level.
  • Contribute to the pitch phase by accompanying the producer in the proposal development including choices of vendors and artists that can contribute to the full success of the production.
  • Harmonize workflow between all members of the department.
  • Provide the Executive Producer with activity reports on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate changes, guidelines and production requirements to all relevant departments and individuals.
  • Participate in the production committee to keep the Film-Series team and management informed of the progress of projects in advertising.
  • Correspond with internal and external partners to align expectations, clearly defining projects and completion criteria.
  •  Influence the principles and culture of the team to help create a stimulating and enjoyable work environment.
  • Share their knowledge and any news information while helping people understand and adhere to production standards.
  • Produce some projects according to workload
  • Manage assignation of resources between advertising and the Film-Series department
  • Supervise and coach the production coordinator in her professional development
  • Follow up with producers so that invoices are updated according to the progress and latest realities of the project.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in production management (including some experience working with advertising clients and agencies)
  • Knowledge of advertising and various animation techniques
  • Knowledge of ShotGrid software
  • Being capable of ballparking and bidding for different various projects
  • English (professional skills). Many of our clients are non-francophone.
