As a Senior QA Engineer (m/f/d) you will define the testing strategy for the newly developed functionality & develop advanced automation solutions to assure the best product quality. You’ll have a lot of freedom accompanied by ownership to drive us toward the mission to become the most sustainable retailer.

Job Description

  • Act as a key solution-oriented member of a cross-functional agile team in order to provide the best value for stakeholders and our customers.
  • Take an active part in influencing the design, UX and product requirements, especially in terms of testability, consistency and completeness. Help to define acceptance criteria for product features.
  • Be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.
  • Design, develop and maintain API/Services and UI solutions. Automate test cases using modern technologies. Integrate them into CI/CD pipeline.
  • Develop tools to prepare production-like data to be used for other environments.
  • Provide a data-driven assessment of the quality of the solutions your team is working on at any period of time. Analyze and prioritize observability improvements.
  • Identify, promote and support the adoption of innovative tooling and approaches to drive high-quality product and engineering practices.
  • Closely cooperate with the Platform team on the topics of environment creation, monitoring and observability best practices.
  • Keep engagement up with a high-speed development process and ongoing deliveries, executing and adjusting your testing activities accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge and experience in both functional and non-functional backend testing. 
  • Practical experience with UI automation using tools such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, Selenium WebDriver or similar.
  • QA support for end-to-end product or feature development (includes contributing to the acceptance criteria, assessing and flagging risks).
  • Understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of standard quality best practices, techniques and methodologies to drive continuous quality improvements in agile environments.
  • You are proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Go, Java, Kotlin, Typescript or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with CI platforms and deployment pipelines (e.g. Github Actions, Gitlab CI, Jenkins).
  • You make the results of your work visible, understandable and valuable for your team members.
  • Ability to dive deep into complex systems and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and take ownership.
  • Demonstrated capability and motivation to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding start-up environment.
  • Excellent communication in English.

Bonus points:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GCP and/or AWS as well as with Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with common logging, monitoring, alerting tools such as Datadog, Grafana, NewRelic, Prometheus, etc.
