Our Graduate Development Programme  

Our 24-month Graduate Development Programme (GDP) provides you with a structured learning environment to help you become a well-rounded consultant and accelerate your career.

The GDP starts with a formal induction, giving you the opportunity to start building your internal networks and deepen your understanding of Turner & Townsend and your service area.

On joining you will be provided with a structured development plan which introduces you to the key business, technical and commercial competencies graduates need to succeed at Turner & Townsend. This gives you the necessary tools to manage and monitor your personal and professional development and progress. Throughout the programme you will be partnered with a Graduate Development Manager who will provide support and guidance to ensure you are on track.

As well as ‘on-the-job' learning, you will benefit from technical and behavioural training, providing you with the knowledge and skills to support you in your personal development. Alongside this you will be given the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications in Project Management, SAFe Scale Agile and Lean Competency System (LCS).

The GDP provides:

• A platform to enhance knowledge and gain first-hand experience; 
• A plan to support and capture your learning and development needs and achievements; and,  
• The tools to track and report your personal development. 

We have a rapidly growing dedicated Lean Agile team that sits within our Advisory business, which is providing independent advice and support to help make organisations more productive.

It is a fantastic time to join Turner & Townsend as a graduate on the Lean Agile GDP as we look to grow our capability and deliver across all of the Turner & Townsend sectors both in UK and international markets. You will be learning the technical and consulting skills on the job, to help advise clients on how to diagnose maturity, develop roadmaps, run pilot areas to demonstrate better ways of working, as well as support and coach an organisation through the change to more productive ways of working.

The Lean Agile GDP programme gives every graduate multiple opportunities to work for incredible clients across a wide range of sectors like, defence, infrastructure, utilities, transport, high tech manufacturing, net zero, clean energy, life science, healthcare, and many more. Throughout the 2-year programme, a graduate consultant would work on multiple commissions both internally and externally, to rotate you through a variety of roles. This provides you with the opportunity to learn about different roles, areas and phases of designing and delivering improved productivity in organisations to hopefully support you in finding your passions and building your career following completion of the graduate programme. Throughout the programme you will be provided with additional formal training, so that you can learn and develop new technical skills and other key skills to help you in your overall career progression.

As part of the T&T Suiko Lean Agile team, and the wider Advisory business there are plenty of extra opportunities to get involved in internal projects, groups & forums, and business generation opportunities alongside client-facing work. This could range from service line development, research and development, opportunity bidding, thought leadership and internal commercial and business operational support.

What are we looking for?

Whether you come from a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) background or non-STEM degree, if you have a willingness to learn, have a passion for solving problems, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and are eager to make a difference to clients in a proactive and confident manner, a career at Turner & Townsend is for you.

• 2:1 or above in your undergraduate degree.
• 2:2 or above in undergraduate degree if you hold a RICS accredited Masters or construction related masters.
• Right to live and work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).

In some regional roles being able to drive will be necessary due to the location of client offices.  Please also note this is not a remote role as we operate a hybrid working approach you will need to be willing and able to work in a Turner & Townsend office or a client site.
