Our Graduate Development Programme  

Our 24-month Graduate Development Programme (GDP) provides you with a structured learning environment to help you become a well-rounded consultant and accelerate your career.

The GDP starts with a formal induction, giving you the opportunity to start building your internal networks and deepen your understanding of Turner & Townsend and your service area.

On joining you will be provided with a structured development plan which introduces you to the key business, technical and commercial competencies graduates need to succeed at Turner & Townsend. This gives you the necessary tools to manage and monitor your personal and professional development and progress. Throughout the programme you will be partnered with a Graduate Development Manager who will provide support and guidance to ensure you are on track.

As well as ‘on-the-job' learning, you will benefit from technical and behavioural training, providing you with the knowledge and skills to support you in your personal development. Alongside this you will be given the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications with organisations such as RICS, APM, CMI, IMEA, ICE and CIOB (depending on your technical discipline).

The GDP provides:

  • A platform to enhance knowledge and gain first-hand experience; 
  • A plan to support and capture your learning and development needs and achievements; and,  
  • The tools to track and report your personal development. 

Job Description

Programme Advisory services go to the core of how programmes should be set-up, and how best to enable them to operate within the broader business, market, and regulatory environment across a range of sectors. We combine our technical capability and market performance information into an integrated solution; tailored for each of our clients through our leading industry practitioners. We work with clients to enable the right business case, operating model and strategic building blocks to be put in place in their business. We then build upon these to enable the business functions to effectively integrate and operate throughout the programme lifecycle.

Throughout the 24 month programme, a Graduate Consultant would work on multiple commissions, and rotate through a variety of roles. As the ‘tip of the spear’ in programme set up, Programme Advisory commissions will typically have a more rapid turnaround, with rotations every 3 – 6 months. This provides you with the opportunity to better understand the areas in which we excel, and where you might wish to specialise following the graduate programme. Throughout the programme we also provide additional training for you to learn and develop new technical skills.

Programme Advisory is made up of a broad spectrum of backgrounds and skillsets, providing us a wealth of perspectives and expertise across the industries we work in. Technical specialisms within Programme Advisory include Strategy & Transformation, Controls & Performance, People & Organisational Effectiveness, and Commercial and Financial.

  • Holds a keen eye for observing details and the smaller thing

Qualifications

  • 2:1 or above in your undergraduate degree.
  • 2:2 or above in undergraduate degree if you hold a RICS accredited Masters or construction related masters.
  • Right to live and work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).

In some regional roles being able to drive will be necessary due to the location of client offices.  Please also note this is not a remote role as we operate a hybrid working approach you will need to be willing and able to work in a Turner & Townsend office or a client site.

To be considered for roles in the Defence arena you will need to pass both a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check and UKSV SC clearance – this process will initiated once you have accepted an offer and have indicated you are happy to go through these checks.  A summary of the checks involved can be found here.
