  • Location: UK, home and office working - London and Glasgow based staff are expected to regularly use our studios. For remote staff we have optional access to business lounges across the UK.

Job Description

We’re looking for someone with the vision to shape how Snook works with charities. You’ll build and grow relationships with key people and organisations, spot trends and find amazing opportunities. We need someone who has extensive practitioner experience of user-centred design or research and who knows the sector inside out. 

As our Charities Lead, you’ll have responsibility for sales and client relationships within our charities portfolio. You’ll track new markets and trends, products and services, reporting into our Business Development Director.

When you’re not working with new clients, you’ll collaborate with the wider team to create compelling proposals and support our marketing and communications for the sector.

You’ll also direct key projects within your portfolio, working with our exceptional researchers and designers. That means this role is a perfect fit for practitioners who are experienced in, and passionate about new business development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities 

You will be a core part of our business development team, working in a team alongside other Sector Leads including healthcare, local government and the central government sector. The role is a mix of client development and identifying new opportunities to grow Snook, in addition to delivering our business objectives and key results.

Commercial responsibilities:

  • Build and grow solid relationships in charities and the wider design industry, to find new and repeat business opportunities for Snook 
  • Build Snook’s reputation in the sector by developing strong relationships and showcasing Snook’s expertise in solving difficult problems 
  • Track new markets and research emerging trends, recommending new products and services
  • Unpick clients’ needs and challenges and write pitches that demonstrate Snook’s capabilities 
  • Find potential partnership opportunities for Snook, to expand our reach 

Operational and governance responsibilities:

  • Coordinate teams to develop expertise-led pitches and proposals with clear deliverables and budgets 
  • Ensure legal and finance approval for client opportunities, proposals and contracts
  • Report sector performance to the business development director and leadership team
  • Develop a new business pipeline in CRM for your sector 
  • Contribute to recruitment planning based on the new business pipeline and resource needs

Project Director responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction on key projects, working closely with Project Leads to ensure work is on track and of a high quality
  • Work with operational teams to make sure projects are resourced with the right skills and experience
  • Get to know key clients and build strong relationships 
  • Understand and scope potential future projects 

Marketing responsibilities

  • Present marketing opportunities to the business, to build and grow the Snook brand 
  • Participate in marketing activity like contributing to sector publications, networking and speaking at events

Clearance

All offers are subject to satisfactory security vetting and reference checks. As standard, all roles undertake a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. As a provider of services to the UK Government, where necessary we adhere to HMG’s personnel security and vetting policy requiring that minimum personnel security controls are checked as specified in the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Some roles may require national security vetting clearance at the Security Check (SC) level and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 3. Where applicable local (non-UK) security checks and vetting schemes will be used to provide sufficient personnel security controls.
