Job Description

How do you inspire a team of engineers to deliver robust and future-ready tech solutions? As Engineering Manager, you set the stage for an amazing engineering experience by assuming full technical ownership of product successes and developer growth.

You are responsible for building a world-class engineering team. You will be involved in performance cycles and help your direct reports grow and reach the next stages of their career. Next to that, you are responsible for driving technical discussions within the team. 

You’ll mainly shape your own working week but it will include:

  • Manage a team of 4-8 engineers directly, go through performance cycles, train them through continuous feedback and help them to the next stages in their career
  • 30% hands-on engineering, 20% Delivery, 50% People Management
  • Be involved in the hiring process in order to build a world-class engineering team
  • Work with engineers and product to create the roadmap
  • Develop a positive & collaborative work culture that empowers the team to perform at their best
  • Participate in technical and architectural discussions within the team
     

Qualifications

Required qualification/Skills

  • 7+ years of experience as a frontend / full-stack developer. 
  • 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team including hiring, personal development, performance management, and delivery management
  • Bring a strong perspective that inspires change and motivates engineers to develop scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-IT-discipline and multicultural environment

Desired qualifications/Skills

  • Experience with Headless technology
  • Experience working in a funded scale-up
  • A history of contributing to open-source projects 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines is a pre
