Job Description

We are now looking for a Carbon Accounting Specialist to join our team.

You will be the go-to person for knowledge around carbon accounting standards and methodologies, and in charge of translating requirements into insights to define our products and services. You’ll use your knowledge and skills to define product strategies and craft narratives around new products and technologies with a positive impact on the climate. 

You will work closely with our science and data team to research and acquire relevant data, and liaise with external partners for research and assurance, e.g. CDP, GLEC and others. In collaborating with product and engineering, you will ensure Climatiq’s product suite reflects the latest developments in carbon measurement standards. Working with our sales team, you will use your expertise to support customers and prospects to ensure smooth onboarding and deployment of Climatiq’s services. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients to ensure Climatiq tools and services fit their emissions intelligence needs.
  • Advise customers on the correct use of emission factors, consistency and compliance with GHG protocol and other applicable standards (HIGG, GLEC, GRESB etc). 
  • Gather and feed customer insights to our product team to inform our roadmap and priorities
  • Support Climatiq’s accreditation with key certification bodies
  • Work closely with the science and data team, research, collect and add new emission factors to the Open Emission Factor Database, and analyse new and existing sources of data. Work on validation and quality assurance of the database. 
  • Liaise with product, data & science as well as the scientific advisory board to prioritise data sets to ingress and maintain in the database. 

Qualifications

  • Experience with applying GHG accounting reporting standards, such as TCFD, GHG Protocol, PCAF and others. 
  • Previous work experience in consulting and/or auditing is desirable
  • Deep understanding of corporate and product carbon footprinting methodologies and LCA frameworks. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role 
  • Solid understanding of how different sectors (i.e. energy, transportation, buildings, water etc.) contribute to global emissions
  • Genuine interest in the climate technology sector, sustainability, and a carbon-neutral economy
  • Proactive, passionate and curious about solving big and complex problems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent English, additional languages a plus
