Job Description

Provide exceptional brand experiences for our members or a prospecting Member by delivering value-added service to members including loans, mortgages, registered and non-registered investment products and keep a watch for opportunities to promote other member services to support member success. Complete all administrative duties accurately and as per required timelines – “first time right”. Make sound lending decisions within limits.

 Differentiating Accountabilities (Duties may vary by branch location and size):

·         Meeting with members to gather all required information needed to make sound loan and mortgage decisions within discretionary limits and/or make recommendations for approvals and/or declines to manager. Identify opportunities to promote other member services to support member success. As appropriate, provide individualized financial counseling (i.e. debt consolidations, budgeting) and information to members. Meet with families to review accounts of deceased members. Lead the account opening process. As appropriate, sell and cross sell credit union loan insurance products through the education of members.

·         Complete all administrative duties accurately and as per required timelines – “first time right” including preparing instructions in support of complete, accurate and compliant loan and mortgage documentation. Ensure accurate on LOS. Provide documentation for solicitors. Conduct PPSA/Credit Bureau reports. Balance and process CDI/CI/CL reporting and remittance. Address loan extension requests, substitution of security, and complete problem solving to best suit the members’ needs.  Prepare and process CAFTs, mortgage renewals, extensions, and add-backs.  Check credit files, registered (TFSAs, RESPs, RRSPs, and RRIFs) and nonregistered investment entries processed by other staff to meet risk management requirements. Accurate prepare all estate related administration. Respond to all assigned reports.

·         Work with and support all staff in the branch to ensure overall exceptional brand experiences for our members. Be a positive influence on the culture within the branch. Actively support all branch campaigns and promotions. Back up MSRs as needed. Support the Saturday rotation schedule.

·         Review and act on all delinquent accounts and maintain a systematic collection procedure for early identification of problem accounts and promptly initiate and/or recommend appropriate action to minimize risk and initiate action under direction of Branch Manager. 

·         Interview and advise members regarding investments, including but not limited to GICs, TFSAs, RRSPs, RESPs, etc., and make referrals to appropriate staff as necessary.

·         Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

·         3+ years progressive experience in credit union or bank branch with lending limits
