Job Description

The Integration Specialist will manage technical aspects of integrating the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system with utility billing or Customer Information Systems (CIS), including the oversight of system testing and acceptance.  Activities include defining the solutions architecture, data integrations, technical requirements, and testing protocol on SET projects. Experience with utility industry formats such as MVRS and major AMI vendor standards desirable.  

While managing the technical elements of small to mid-size assignments delivering to time, budget and client satisfaction, the Integration Specialist also:

  • Executes high-quality project deliverables per SET standards
  • Serves as the day-to-day point of contact, with oversight from a project manager or practice leader.
  • Helps develop business partnerships with clients by attuning to client culture, needs and business opportunities.
  • Supports the sales and marketing strategy and adds value to account relationships and sales.
  • Understands client needs and identifies new solutions to contribute to client success.
  • Identifies new business opportunities with existing clients; brings to team for development.
  • Actively builds networks with mid-level managers and staff; sustains close working relationships with same.
  • Is consulted by clients and colleagues on decisions and is recognized as a valuable source of advice; brings in others on team as needed to support.
  • Plays a role in developing, mentoring, and training other staff
  • Demonstrates developmental internal leadership qualities
  • Facilitates open communication and team comradery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate experience in systems architecture of multiple domains of Distribution Operations Systems; e.g. AMI, CIS, MDMS, Web Portal
  • Demonstrate expertise in system integration and ability to participate in thought leadership around these areas
  • Contribute to proposal development for large projects; lead same for small to mid-size projects.
  • Manage several assignments concurrently
  • Make decisions and interact with impact, authority, and presence
  • Contribute to change, surface innovative ideas, and develop business or technical solutions
  • Identify the need for and develop new tools, techniques or methods, lead or support development

Additional Information

EXPERIENCE: 5 to 15 years domain experience in the utility industry

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields often including specialized industry training
