At IKEA we rely heavily on analytics in how we lead our climate agenda, where climate reporting is turned into concrete improvement actions for the many across the business. This is also used to set strategic goals and road maps with clear actions and projects, which are anchored across business.

We’re on the lookout for passionate doers, idea makers, and creative thinkers. Right now, we are looking for a Business Analyst for our global climate team, overseeing the climate agenda for the total IKEA value chain and enable it to reach set strategic commitments and goals.

As Business Analyst – Climate, your responsibility is to keep together and safeguard the overall IKEA value chain climate footprint by leading and developing IKEA competence and tools on how to measure, follow-up and simulate the climate footprint across the IKEA value chain. It includes conducting strategic analysis to identify needed movements to reach set strategic commitments and goals.

Your responsibilities will include:
    Build capability of business steering and navigation and analytics functions on Inter IKEA Group level and in each Core Business to manage performance follow-up, scenario analysis and other analytics of climate footprints and provide subject-matter expertise.
    Act as business owner for climate footprint performance follow-up, scenario analysis and other analytics solutions, incl. defining relevant business and solution requirements.
    Together with business steering and navigation functions and future data steward, secure correct measurement definitions of climate performance frameworks and integration into applicable scorecards, goal sheets, action plan tools, etc.
    Together with Process Development Leader and other Business Analysts – Climate, lead and coordinate the climate reporting for each annual IKEA Sustainability Report to secure a process with timely delivery of high quality, which is as automated as possible.
    Collaborate with other functions – inside and outside of the sustainability function – to integrate climate-related footprints into other solutions and tools, and that relevant prerequisites and business requirements are identified and addressed.
    Where the IKEA solution landscape does not meet the needs of business, develop interim solutions to meet needs and provide proof-of-concepts for later integration into IKEA solution landscape.

We are looking for an analytics enthusiast with a passion for creating a positive impact on people and planet by empowering our business to shape the agenda on how IKEA should tackle the climate footprint in fact-based way throughout the IKEA businesses using data and analytics. 

We believe that you have outstanding analytical skills in data and complex systems and with your holistic approach as well as an eye for detail you can propose actions and structure perspectives. You have proven work experience within business development, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities and successful track record in driving business change. Preferably relevant methodology certification within Business Analysis (IIBA, IREB, PMI, etc.).

You also have very good skills in business intelligence systems, as well as programming skills (e.g. Python,) and Microsoft  Enterprise platform and relevant business intelligence solutions. Any experience and knowledge of external reporting standards, especially the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, are beneficiary but not a requirement.

You have experience in business navigation and steering within a complex company setup. You are able to slice and translate multipart matters into simple and practical solutions and examples in a business context and you can present data it in a simple and accessible way for the many. You are solution oriented and capable of finding ways forward when and where necessary system support or material data are not available. You are a true team player, and you enjoy working together with many different stakeholders. With your indirect leadership skills and enthusiasm to move things forward, you lead and influence and develop the competence of our organization.
