Engagement lead for the strategic area of circularity, H&M Group Sustainability

The H&M Group Sustainability department in Stockholm is looking for an Engagement lead to lead and develop the strategic engagement plan for climate & circularity.      

Having strong relations with the stakeholders around us is important to gain insights and find partners that can help us improve and implement our ambitious sustainability strategy. It also helps us to create credible ambassadors for our brands and prevent or mitigate risks.

In this role, you will be leading and developing the strategic engagement plan for climate & circularity. You will work with a cross functional team of both experts on the matter, as well as colleagues across the business involved in integrating our high ambitions in our daily business. You will also coach the team in constantly improving how to best engage the different target groups, co-create strategic engagement plans and play a key role in both achieving our goals, as well as making sure that we build strong trust and credibility in this work externally as well as internally.

You will be a part of the Sustainability Engagement team, which focus on engaging our sustainability stakeholders as part of the H&M group’s global Sustainability team based in Stockholm. 

Job Description

In this role you should amongst other things:

  • Coach relevant colleagues across functions, markets, brands & functions in stakeholder engagement and ensure world class competence and practice throughout the organization, with particular focus on circularity
  • Contribute to internal strategy development with excellent analysis of stakeholder demands, networks and campaigning strategies as well as business intelligence
  • Co-create strategic stakeholder engagement plans and strategies
  • Co-create stakeholder mappings, topic specific engagement plans and strategies
  • Lead the work to achieve and maintain best-in class performance in prioritized sustainability assessments
  • Create and contribute to stakeholder communication tools, such as Stakeholder Newsletters, Webinars, reporting, website and others
  • Support and align with communication teams and other internal and external stakeholders to create impactful proactive communication plans, prevent and mitigate issue handling
  • Build strategic 3rd party ambassadors

 

Qualifications

We believe that you have/are:

  • + 3 years of experience in corporate communications and/or stakeholder engagement and negotiation
  • Cross-functional project/process management skills
  • Excellent writing- and presentation skills as well as an analytical understanding and a strategic mindset
  • Good in turning data and information into strategic communication as well as creating and contributing to communication strategies.
  • A good negotiator, with excellent communication-, informal leadership- and interpersonal skills; internally as well as externally

As a person we believe you like to work across functions and hierarchies and thrive in a fast changing environment. You also have a strong passion for and good understanding of sustainability matters. You are also self-motivated and able to work independently as well as being a strong team player.

Additional Information

This is a full time permanent position based in the Head office in Stockholm, but we are open to look at placements in other locations.
