Job Description

Duration:           One year with the possibility of extension 

Reports to:        Sales & Marketing Manager & Technically to Junior M& E Officer

The Data Clerk shall be responsible for data entry and ensuring quality of data collected from Lifeline’s field sites are captured in the database. He/she will ensure that all data collected is entered into the respective data basis timely, accurately and complete. He/she shall ensure timely verifications, reporting and accountability for all the completed data forms received. The Data Clerk will assist in conducting DQA in coordination with the Junior M&E Officer and Sales and Marketing teams.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Data Clerk

1)      Ensure that all data files are kept in good order and that historical files are stored
to facilitate easy reference.

2)      Validate and verify the accuracy of all field data via phone calls, and in consultation with the sales & marketing team while conducting data entry on the main database;

3)      Support the M&E department in conducting data quality assurance of all field data
collection exercises, data management, and analysis, contribute to timely and
quality internal reporting of project data

4)      Generate updates or reports and respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested by your supervisor(s)

5)      Participate in meetings aimed at making improvements to data related challenges

6)      Conduct timely entry of field monitoring data and generation of updates as per the entries made.

7)      Share updated commercial stove database monthly with your supervisor(s) for review and discussions.

8)      Participate in troubleshooting of data related problems in consultation with the supervisor(s) through meetings

9)      Work with your supervisor(s) in proposing ways of improving data management in the M&E department.

10)   Liaise & work with the Production Officer, to verify whether all the stove serial numbers attached to the stoves are not duplicates using conditional formatting and any other approaches.

11)   Any other duties assigned by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications

        Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics,                  Social Sciences, or any other related degree

·        2 years progressive experience working as a Data Clerk

·        Excellent computer skills in Ms Office, Excel, Internet, Power Point

·        Excellent skills in data management and any one of the following statistical packages              like SPSS, Eviews, Epi-info, Epi data, R.

·        Ability to think critically and pay attention to detail

·        Experience working with an International NGO is desired

·        Strong written and Verbal communication skills.

·        Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

·        Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

·        Team player

·        Knowledge of data ethics

·        Skills & knowledge in data protection

·        Strong written and Verbal communication skills.
