Job Description

As Daxko's Database Administrator, you'll be tasked with supporting our production and development Database Servers/Instances and ensuring their performance, availability, recovery, and security. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities may also include:

  • Ownership of DBA related tasks for assigned Daxko product lines
  • Manage production database users and permissions
  • Manage backup and recovery for production databases
  • Design schemas and other database objects
  • Support teams with importing and exporting data from various databases
  • Assist Technical Services Team on customer issues
  • Provide assistance to various engineering teams
  • Monitor database servers/instances and resolve performance issues
  • Manage database servers/instances failover clustering setups
  • Be a part of the on-call rotation
  • Perform standard database servers/instances maintenance tasks
  • Assist in all database server updates
  • Work with Engineering and Test Teams on performance turning of release related items

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in MySQL, AWS Aurora, and/or SQL Server
  • Experience working with cloud platform technologies
  • Proficient in 2-3 database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Azure, AWS Aurora, SQL Server
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot query performance based on Query plans of SQL Server
  • Available some nights and weekends for on-call responsibilities
  • Background working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects
  • Self-motivated and directed, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow your skills in the DBA world
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
