Job Description

Senior Accounting Clerk will lead in a complex work environment and are responsible for reporting and financial record keeping. They are also responsible for resolving discrepancies, verifying and auditing financial reports, and inputting data into their financial accounting system. They must know methods of verifying and reconciling accounting records, accounts payable and receivable, and how to familiarize themselves with their firm's financial accounting software.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES 

  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports.
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Preparing local, and special tax returns.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of business services work experience, which includes processing complex financial transactions, recordkeeping and preparation of monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting is required.
  • Diploma in a related field/Level 2 ACCA.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Computerized Accounting  
  • 5 successful passes or more at CSEC or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer and administrative skills.
  • A strong work ethic.
