Applications are invited for a (Lecturer / Senior Lecturer) to join our Pūtaiao Pūhanga | Engineering Science department on a permanent, full-time basis. Our department is home to the Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering specialisations, and we're committed to using mathematics, computation and technology to further understand, plan, and optimise our world.

The successful applicant will undertake high-quality teaching and research in Engineering Science and Computational Engineering, in areas such as mathematical modelling, computational modelling, physical-based modelling of natural phenomena, inverse modelling, optimisation, statistical machine learning and related/similar areas.

Ideal candidates will possess or demonstrate:

  • A PhD in Engineering Science, Computational Engineering, or a related discipline
  • A record of successful teaching and research supervision at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in areas relevant to this position
  • A strong track record of research and/or publications in the field
  • A commitment to student success and a drive to deliver a high quality learning experience
  • A collaborative approach, coupled with strong communication skills
  • A commitment to supporting a safe and inclusive environment for all staff and students
