Data Management Specialist (Chemistry) 100%

Job Description

As Data Management Specialist, you assure the content and quality of chemical substance-related data in our IT tools.
Based on your toxicological background, you perform hazard and risk-based assessments and support the development of new services regarding the impact of chemicals in the textile supply chain.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data maintenance in the bluesign® SUBSTANCE NAVIGATOR database.
  • Perform IT-supported hazard assessments of substances and chemical products, internally and for customers.
  • Support the development of new IT-based services to monitor and reduce the negative impact of chemical substances in the textile supply chain
  • Calculations to define consumer safety limits for our BSSL (bluesign® SYSTEM SUBSTANCES LIST)
  • Cooperation with other Bluesign departments and assistance with chemical expertise.

Ideal Profile

  • A qualified degree in chemistry with advanced experience in toxicology
  • At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in relevant chemical industries
  • Experience in chemical hazard assessment and modeling
  • Very good skills in data management via Microsoft Excel/Access
  • Experience with GHS classification
  • Knowledge of the chemical and/or textile supply chain is an advantage
