Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer for the PTAG team. PTAG Mobile is an IKEA-built application with capabilities supporting the business needs of today and in the future. 

You will work with solution designs and configure internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, integrations or business intelligence systems, and develop as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting business objectives. 

As a Software Engineer you will mainly work with following:  

  • Design and develop/configure solutions for the PTAG area. 

  • Design and develop application/integration microservices using technologies such as Angular, Java, Apache Kafka hosted on Akamai, GCP and Opens Shift 

  • Translate business requirements into data models & IT solutions 

Qualifications

  • We believe you have worked as a senior developer for at least 3-5 years. 

  • We believe you have experience of both legacy and digital development processes 

  • Strong experience with software development in Object Oriented Programming and OO Design concepts knowledge (e.g. .Net, Angular, Java, Apache Kafka)  

  • Strong experience with software development with API’s 

  • Good knowledge in Akamai, GCP and Opens Shift 

  • Good knowledge in Unit and integration testing  

  • Experience working with GitHub 

  • Experience working with JSON structures  

  • Good knowledge of the software development process using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD  

  • You are interested in and understand the IKEA business and like to see how digital capabilities can enable people to achieve business results. You feel comfortable to explain technical information to people in a simple and easy-to understand way.
