We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Project Engineer who Is keen to learn about the next generation of thin-film technology and can help our team further develop products and projects ranging from domestic to commercial and industrial. As a scale-up company the selected candidate will have the opportunity to experience many parts of the business Including electrical system design, feasibility studies, site surveys, product development and time on site during construction and O&M activities.

Job Description

  • Working within the engineering team to design and deliver UK-wide commercial & industrial rooftop solar PV projects using state-of-the-art thin-film technology
  • Ideally SE or Midlands based
  • Hybrid – with ability to work from London office c.2 days a week and attend site as required.

Duties And Responsibilities  

  • Work closely with Sales and Engineering to offer best solution for each project. 
  • 2D and 3D CAD design including single line diagrams, panel layouts, construction drawings, and as-built drawings for all solar projects. 
  • Performance analysis for prospective projects using internal and proprietary software.
  • Generating Bill-of-materials for projects and assist in procurement
  • Work with utility companies on grid connection applications
  • Monitoring and reporting of existing assets for O&M
  • Occasional travel to sites for technical surveys, installation and O&M
  • Support the development of all internal design process

ESSENTIALS

  • Electrical engineering degree or similar relevant to solar or renewables. 
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in the solar PV industry
  • Knowledge of industry applicable regulations & standards
  • Experience and knowledge on the design and construction process of residential ,commercial or utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Proficiency with  Microsoft  Excel , Sketchup/AutoCAD and proprietary solar design software.
  • Capable of understanding technical specifications and construction documents. 
  • Good level of oral and written communication skills.  
  • Occasional travel as necessary. 
  • Full driving license
  • Confident independent and team worker

Qualifications
