My client, Silverdale Kitchens, a well-respected company based in Silverdale, Rodney, is looking for a Workshop Assistant/Cabinetmaking Apprentice (first year) to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an entry-level position and an exciting opportunity for someone looking to join the workforce for the first time. The initial first three months on the job would be an introduction to the Workshop Assistant role and would then lead into a Cabinetmaking Apprenticeship.

This company is excellent at what they do: the design, manufacturing & installation of tailor-made cabinetry (kitchens, bathroom vanities, & laundries). They are looking for someone equally as excellent to join their busy & fast-paced team. This role is based in their on-site factory.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role are to help with manufacturing, building, and delivering quality cabinetry. As well as to help keep the factory clean and tidy, unload inwards goods, and any other assistance that the factory and installation teams need. At times, there may be a requirement to assist with installation tasks. Being a team player with solid communication skills is a must. If there’s something to be done, we expect all our team members to get stuck in.

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Good command of written & verbal English
  • A full, clean & current NZ driver’s licence (and able to drive a manual vehicle)
  • Excellent people skills & a good sense of humour
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
  • Double COVID-19 Vaccinations (with boosters)
