Job Description

We are looking for a Trainee JIRA Support Engineer to join our Engineering Excellence team under Centre of Excellence unit within RnD. The purpose of the central practice is to enable the R&D organization to create, maintain and rollout high-quality world-class products by facilitating common infrastructure, aligned ways of working and timely communication across our quality framework.  

By joining IFS as a Trainee JIRA Support Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with many stakeholders across the R&D organization as you drive the improvement of our use of Jira and AHA and Confluence and in doing so support our DevSecOps transformation.

As a team member of the central JIRA Team, you will supporting Lead JIRA Administrator and team to

  • Technically implement changes to Jira.

  • Manage AHA instance to align with JIRA processes and defining the scope within the business with the stakeholders.

  • Document, advise, design and deliver changes to the development and quality/engineering processes around our use of Jira and implement them within the tool. 

  • Work closely with the Engineering community and other members of the central Practices teams to ensure a unified process, toolset and reporting set. 

  • Understand our reporting requirements and design and implement processes, tools and reports in order to communicate our quality status effectively to senior stakeholders. 

  • Manage and administer Jira in a complex multi-faceted environment, to support our DevSecOps transformation. 

  • guide the configuration and documentation of client JIRA and Confluence instances 

  • work with internal customers to enable custom workflows, fields, screens, dashboards, and reports 

  • create and manage complex configuration elements including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes 

  • install and configure 3rd party add-ons for Atlassian products to provide enhanced capabilities 

  • provide assistance to teams on Jira and Confluence usage within the organization 

This is a great learning opportunity for undergraduates to work under the guidance of Lead JIRA administrator to gain expertise & exposure on Jira and other tooling used in Project Management.
