Job Description

Data is a first-class feature within the Casebook Platform. Our customers, such as foster family recruitment agencies, government community service agencies and domestic violence shelters, need data to run their day-to-day operations, plan for long-term strategy, and secure funding. We’re looking for an empathetic and energetic product manager who can represent the voice of the customer as we continue to build data and reporting tools as part of our SaaS platform. You’ll report into the EVP of Product and spend your time collaborating with a multi-disciplinary product/engineering/design team, sales and customer success teams, and customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Have empathy for our customers - understand the complex and variable nature of non-profit leadership and their need to improve their experience with data to better their organizations, staff and populations they serve

  • Manage the product roadmap, sprint planning, and story execution for data and reporting features and experiences on the Casebook platform

  • Produce product requirements for initiatives, and solicit and incorporate feedback from marketing, UX, and engineering teams, and represent customer data needs across the organization

  • Conduct competitive research and develop a deep understanding of the human services data market

  • Produce and edit materials for data modeling, for tool evaluation decisions, story breakdown meetings, user research sessions, product marketing and sales demonstrations

  • Act as technical consultant on reporting capabilities and dashboards for customer success, help desk, training, and sales teams

Qualifications

What You’ve Got:

  • 3+ years experience in product development or management of data products, including user story-writing, acceptance criteria definition, backlog prioritization, and development team management

  • Experience with SaaS applications, microservices, and APIs

  • Experience with SQL and  BI tools (e.g. Reveal, Looker, Tableau)

  • Demonstrated intra- or entre-preneurial experience, able to evaluate new feature opportunities and build business cases for pursuing them

  • Analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions when developing business cases. Ability to clearly communicate these data insights to others through written and other forms of documentation.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in user story-writing, acceptance criteria definition, managing a backlog and understanding how to keep a development team working efficiently

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, especially  the ability to demo technology and to convey complex information to a variety of audiences, including customers

  • Preferred experience in government reporting or enterprise technology projects (particularly if you were dissatisfied and want to make a bigger impact)
