Job Description

IBI Group is seeking a talented Project Manager, Transportation Engineering for our dynamic Toronto West office. We are looking for a team lead with a background in road and transit projects in Ontario. Experience in some or all of Environmental Assessments, preliminary design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.

This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, business development and client interaction. As a Project Manager you will be asked to assist in growing and maintaining the business. Most of The Things You'll Work On: 

  • Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects such as Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies
  • Transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects
  • Review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing (e.g. Environmental Study Report, traffic studies), proposal writing
  • Manage staff productivity and utilization
  • Mentor staff and project teams
  • Supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects; 
  • Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus
  • Lead and direct business development activities in the GTHA
  • Project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget
  • Client liaison
  • Participation in the management of the Infrastructure Group in Toronto West Office 

Qualifications

You'll Need To Have:

  • Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8-12+ years of Transportation Engineering experience in engineering consulting
  • Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience
  • P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred
  • Experience with MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, and Halton Region are an asset
  • Experience with preliminary and detailed design of arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads and Civil3D an asset 
  • Understanding of traffic engineering principles
  • Familiarity with GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around the GTHA
  • Familiar with construction inspection and preparation of reports
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients
  • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high quality work
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Additional Information

We are currently exclusively on a work from home model during COVID-19. On return to office, we will support a highly flexible working arrangement with work-from-home and work-from-office options, and multiple office locations across the GTHA to choose from. Our home office for this assignment is Toronto West at 175 Galaxy Boulevard. Your ability to attend occasional meetings in person is preferred, to support client and staff relationships.
