Job Description

At Uncommon, our people are our greatest asset. This role is responsible for defining and operationalizing how we understand the health of our talent -- engagement, performance, and key talent metrics-- and supporting our leaders to strategically use this information to create better outcomes for our staff members, and ultimately our students. This person will own the design and implementation of our Home Office Performance Management System, and serve as a thought partner and support to our instructional and operations colleagues on Performance Management. They will also own organization-wide surveys, partnering closely with the Data Analytics and Data & IT Functions. 

Envision and Implement Talent Data Strategy

  • Lead the creation of a vision for the talent data we collect, analyze and act on as an organization
  • Evaluate the data we collect and analyze for our people and recommend a desired future state for our Talent Data
  • Support organizational leaders to analyze their talent data and turn it into action
  • Create dashboards for leaders to have ready access to the most important data about their teams

Improve and Maintain Performance Management System

  • Serve as the Uncommon Performance Management expert
  • Continuously improve and maintain the Home Office Performance Management system
  • Train, coach and support managers on the use of the Performance Management system, particularly in tricky situations
  • Develop partnerships with school colleagues in order to understand performance management needs 
  • Partner with instructional and operations leaders to review and evaluate school performance management tools
  • Oversee the build of performance management for schools and Home Office in Workday

Qualifications

  • 7 years professional experience; 3+ years of experience working with talent analytics/talent data, 2+ years experience in performance management
  • Experience with a talent management platform/HRIS
  • You have strong analytical skills and knowledge of important talent metrics 
  • You effectively use data to “tell stories” and compel others to action
  • You are an experienced and effective project manager
  • You prioritize and are able to build strong relationships across a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders
  • You are able to inspire peers and leaders to action without formal authority
  • You have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ideally, you have experience working in Workday and with Qualtrics
  • Bachelor’s degree required
