Job Description

The DBA is a key member of the SET engineering organization. The DBA will own the scalability and resilience of the databases. You will be working with a collection of engineers to improve the efficiency and performance of the system while providing optimizations on the databases. SET DBs currently runs on AWS cloud and leverage MSSQL as well as RedShift.

Responsibilities

- Support existing databases MSSQL and RedShift on the AWS cloud

- Automate day-to-day operational tasks through scripts

- Give advice to product and engineering teams on industry best practices

- Perform optimizations and indexes that will help improve system speeds

- Ability to perform scalability and stress testing on the DBs to test limitations

- Write maintainable, self-documenting code, as well as perform code reviews and participate in design discussions

-  Work closely with internal stakeholders to refine requirements as well as implement and maintain a well-designed solution

- Maintain DBs and stability of changes in AWS as code is deployed and used in production

Qualifications

- 5+ years of DBA experience with a proven track record of shipping high-quality production features on schedule

- 4+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud based OLTP database infrastructure

- Experience with DB management, indexing strategies, and performance tuning

- Familiar with MSSQL/AuroraDB/RedShift

- Built tools to help with automations on DBs

- Aware of current security regulatory restrictions

- Experience collaborating with peer stakeholders to deliver complex technical projects

- Unquestioned high-integrity, high-reliability, strong work ethic
