IoS is based in Älmhult – the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development and supply chain.

The Innovation team aims to explore and innovate new solutions that strengthen the IKEA range and products, including new product segments and functionality while securing capacities to develop, validate and deploy new revolutionary innovation on the market.

Job Description

Organisationally you are part of the Intellectual Property team at IKEA at the Innovation Support department and your focus area will be to handle and support work around the growing IKEA patent and design protection portfolios. You will be a central role of the IP team at IKEA.

  • An important part of the job is to handle design registration cases, from start – identifying the products to be protected - to end when the protection is filed (the actual filing is handled by external partners).
  • You work in close collaboration with the business areas, the legal counsels and the IP team.
  • It’s important that you find it exciting and are energized by working in a team with complementing competencies.
  • Evaluation and implementation of a new system for handling patent and design registration information and documentation.
  • Internal communication and creating awareness of patents and design rights, administration and cost control of patent and design portfolios and other related projects.

Qualifications

We think that you share the IKEA value and culture and enjoy being part of a team as well as having the skills to work independently within own areas of responsibility and that:

  • You have experience from working with IP in-house or at a law firm.
  • You have an understanding of Intellectual Property, especially patents and design rights, and how it influences the business environment.
  • You are comfortable in building relationships with stakeholders at different levels in the organisation, from engineers to management.
  • We would also like to see that you have a keen interest in home furnishing.

Furthermore, we see that you have proven knowledge and experience in:

  • Confidence to deal with complex situations together with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to see the big picture combined with analytical skills and an eye for details
  • You take on tasks in a structured way and have a good ability to organize and plan your work.
  • You understand the importance of accuracy and are used to prioritizing, following processes and having a proactive approach.
  • Being service minded, having a sense of order and starting your own initiatives
  • You communicate freely in English in speech and writing.
