Accountant Associate - Helensville

  • Full-time

Company Description

My client, an accounting firm in Helensville, is looking for an Accountant Associate to join their small but thriving Practice.

They are looking for someone to join their team who can match the culture of the Practice. You will be someone who is “Heads down, quiet and focused on your work”. Equally, they want someone who will quickly become part of their work family. They have the ethos of ‘family-first, and this really shines through when you meet them. This role will suit you if you are happy to be part of an open-plan office, where the collective team can collaborate on ideas and brainstorm solutions together. This role would be amazing for some who wants a long-term role and has the vision to take over a semi-rural practice.

Job Description

You will ideally be someone that can commit to full-time hours. However, the Practice is also open to considering candidates seeking 30-32 hours per week (4 days per week) or two part-timers to job share.  The important thing for them is to find the right fit for their team.

You must be the sort of person who is comfortable having hard conversations with your clients and be happy to work across a solid range of accounting tasks. The accounts that you will cover are for various sole traders and limited companies in small professional services, childcare, and agriculture. Helensville is a semi-rural community, and if you have accounting experience in the farming sector, this would be a major bonus!

Tasks will include:

  • Examination of financial records
  • Interviewing clients for financial information
  • Analyzing financial records & completing tax forms
  • Reconciling client information in MYOB & Xero
  • Completing GST, PAYE & FBT Returns
  • Calculating dividends
  • Client education
  • Office management

Qualifications

You will be a qualified Chartered Accountant or have completed three years of your CA studies and will be close to qualification. Completion of your Tax paper (or currently studying towards it) is a must. Mentoring can be provided if needed. The Principal Accountant/Managing Director of this Practice has been approved by the CA NZ to provide mentoring to CA students and enjoys developing and growing their team members.

    Additional Information

In return, you would be offered a competitive salary and reimbursed for your Registration and CPD requirements (30 hours per year). You will be part of a supportive team with hands-on leadership and a real opportunity to grow and develop your skills.

If you think that you would be great for this position, please contact Jaime at Marbles (People & Culture Hub) with your CV in the strictest of confidence. Marbles’ exclusively manage the recruitment for this role - you will not find this role listed directly by our client or through any other agency - therefore, you can guarantee that your application will be taken seriously.

We look forward to receiving your application.
