Job Description

As a Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst at BluWave, you will have the opportunity to work on large, ongoing data analytics projects that span all functional areas of our business, as well ad hoc projects supporting specific parts of our team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, curious, intelligent, and dependable problem solver who is able to work efficiently by themselves and in collaboration with other team members without letting important details slip through the cracks.  

 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Responsible for acquiring, integrating, and proactively managing data quality, and analyzing such data to produce historical insights and equip forward-looking business decisions 

  • Work with key business stakeholders in sales/account management, marketing, and research and operations by effectively querying, modelling, analyzing, and reporting data insights to address business problems and opportunities  

  • Responsible for strategizing, supporting, and complementing efforts across the organization, working with the marketing, sales/account management, and research and operations teams 

  • Analytically identify opportunities to use data to improve performance across functional areas of the business 

  • Mentor and collaborate with junior members of the data analytics team.  

  • Create insightful and clear dashboards that allow our team to easily comprehend and act on key insights  

  • Identify and address areas for process improvement and automation in our data flows  

  • Take on other ad hoc responsibilities as needed in a fast growth start-up, maintaining flexibility and a can-do attitude needed as part of our collaborative team and shared mission  

Qualifications

  • 4-year undergraduate degree with a proven track record of success 

  • 3+ years professional work experience using data to solve a wide variety of business problems 

  • Start-up background preferred, comfortable being a jack-of-all-trades and working on a breadth of projects with short turnaround times 

  • Ability to understand, organize, and manage growing data sets, knowledge of relational databases and data properties 

  • Experience with unstructured data and leading quality assurance initiatives to improve data quality; experience with contact/people data preferred 

  • Experience using SQL to model, query, and analyze data (familiar with subqueries, aggregate functions, views) 

  • Strong communicator with experience in deriving and sharing insights from data via visualization, Tableau preferred 

  • Experience using Python to wrangle data and automate workflows highly preferred  

  • Experience performing statistical analyses and related usage of statistics software platforms for predictive modeling preferred 

  • We strongly prefer that you live in Nashville, but we are open to talking if you are interested in relocating here
