We teach students strategies, provide ongoing support and remediation, while building their self esteem and advocacy skills. Job Description

As an Educational Specialist, your role is to provide ongoing support, strategies, and remediation to students in our practice. You will manage a unique caseload with a high level of autonomy and flexibility. You will coordinate with classroom teachers, allied professionals, and parents to increase academic and social/emotional growth, and long lasting benefits for students who often feel marginalized. An ideal candidate can communicate effectively, and help families feel comfortable through empathy and understanding.

 

This is a part-time position in which students are served after school, with the possibility of day time hours. To provide the best student experience, students are taught in person in our Walnut Creek office, which requires candidates to live in the East Bay.  Our ideal candidate is a certified educational therapist, but we are open to the right candidate. If you are a teacher, learning specialist, or student educational therapist, looking to earn extra income in the afternoons and weekends, we would love to meet you!  

 

We serve all types of learners including those with ADHD, executive functioning weaknesses, Dyslexia, sensory processing disorders and ASD. We are seeking fun, collaborative, and highly organized individuals who aim to provide top-notch service to learners and their families.

Qualifications

  • Teaching experience, credential and/or Educational Therapist certificate

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, while a Masters in Education is preferred.

  • Training in Barton, Orton Gilingham, LindaMood Bell Programs, Wilson or Making Math Real is a plus.

  • Clear health and background check, TB test required 

  • Experience working with students with learning differences

  • Must have proof of vaccination

  • CPR trained 

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Maitain professionalism and adhere to company values and code of ethics
