  1. Profile
  2. Background

Ka Hiko is Contact’s new training and employment initiative which aims to put our whānau into jobs and training.

We want you!

We're looking for people interested in job opportunities in trades and construction to participate in our programme.

We'll put you on a pre-trade training course and provide you with on-the-job hours to help you find an apprenticeship or job with one of our contractors on site.

Why?
Contact Energy - Te Mata Hiko has several geothermal power stations in Taupō and has recently started construction on a new 152-Megawatt power station at Tauhara.

This development creates an opportunity for training during the construction phase. It will also generate lots of jobs, that we want to ensure our local whanau can be part of.

What will you get out of it?
