Job Description

The Sales Executive will offer Learning Explorer’s Learning Object Repository and Curriculum Management Platform to academic buyers in K-12 districts and schools. The company is expanding its go-to-market activities in the Western US and the Sales Executive will be ideally located in the Western states of the US, but other locations will also be considered. This position reports to the CEO.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Meet sales objectives for the assigned territory.
  • Develop a strategic sales and marketing plan for the assigned territory to focus on school district education leaders (e.g., chief academic officers, district instructional leaders and principals).
  • Educate customers and prospective customers about Learning Explorer’s products and services; demonstrate solutions; provide consultation regarding educators’ needs; drive sales activities to close.
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop customer success stories and testimonials.
  • Provide continuous market feedback to Sales management and Product Marketing. 
  • Track all sales opportunities and activities in Salesforce; ensure accuracy of all proposals and contracts. 
  • Coordinate with Sales Operations, Professional Development and Customer Support teams.
  • Represent Learning Explorer at K-12 conferences within the assigned territory and on a national level, as requested.
  • Maintain relationships with current customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of Learning Explorer products, features and benefits, and evolving market landscape.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on account strategy, sales cycles, resource optimization and any assistance needed to meet the sales quota

Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years in a teaching, education administration or leadership role; or in K-12 education sales or customer service.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business or Marketing.
  • K-12 education leadership and/or education sales skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Ability to describe multi-faceted solutions to meet educational needs.
  • Ability to learn and describe education software applications.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications is required.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Existing relationships with education leaders in the assigned territory are a plus.
  • Experience establishing new education products in the assigned territory is a plus.
  • Regional travel to visit school districts is required periodically (subject to COVID safety).
  • Travel to out-of-state company meetings and national conferences is required periodically (subject to COVID safety).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet goals.
  • Customer-service focus and willingness to go the extra mile to support customers
