As a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer, you will implement good patterns for scale and be empowered to enforce the high availability. You will be responsible for creating the security and trust that our applications are running in a safe, well thought out and reliable infrastructure. One of the most important measures that will determine Novatti’s success is the reliability and ease of use of our infrastructure. More importantly, in this role you will:

• Deployment of applications and services into AWS using a variety of automation tools such as Terraform and Cloud provider API's.
• Troubleshooting, performance tuning and cost optimisation of cloud-hosted applications and services in AWS.
• Implementation of automation, auto-scaling other practises which reduce cost and improve availability of cloud-hosted applications and services.
• Working with application development teams using continuous delivery practises and toolsets.
• Third-level support escalation for problems and incidents for cloud-hosted applications and services.
• Enhancing system and security reliability and quality by integrating monitoring, reporting and fault handling apps on the platform.
• Maintain good security and privacy practices across the company.

What would make you a good candidate?

• You have a Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years with Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems experience.
• You have a good knowledge and skills regarding automating, managing and monitoring AWS services: EC2, Route53, S3, CloudWatch, Autoscaling, VPC, RDS, IAM, EKS, Lambda etc and a basic understanding of containers and containers orchestration, such as Dockers or Kubernetes.
• You had your hands dirty with designing, scaling and troubleshooting large-scale cloud based architectures , ideally based on a microservices or event driven pattern.
• Agile is more than a buzzword for you. You believe in self organising teams with cross functional responsibilities working in iterations. Git skills are desired.
• You are able to code with one or more modern programming languages: Java, Python, Go, Rust, Scala or any other functional or object oriented language with some credibility and feasibility for distributed systems on a cloud ecosystem.
• You are able to contribute to the whole chain of a dev team’s value chain: from prototyping to coding, testing, integrating, deploying to and maintaining production.
• You are all about metrics, optimising the products you are responsible for and automating everything around its services both on a functional and non-functional level. Visualisation and dashboards are good friends.
• You are motivated by a fast-paced environment where you will have to constantly adapt with a can-do attitude - no two days are the same, seriously!
