Job Description

Under the direction of the Vice President, Commercial Services, the Senior Commercial Account Manager will manage a portfolio of commercial accounts having a broad range of complexity and value.  Promote the lending, cash management and support services required by commercial and agricultural clients and may include credit cards, payroll, insurance, deposit and investments accounts, to meet the full financial needs of current and potential members. Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the development and maintenance of a profitable, growing and diversified commercial and agricultural portfolio. Initiate action to improve the growth and development of the commercial loan and deposit portfolio, while minimizing risk.

Aggressively pursue new commercial and agricultural loans and deposits.

Work with department team to achieve individual and collective targets.

Seek to strengthen business relationships with members through site visits and other methods of communication and proactive contact methods.

Manage collection of delinquent accounts.

Provide advice and commercial/agricultural credit expertise to meet the needs of the member.

Collect and compile information and analyze financial statements to assess credit worthiness.

Prepare and present credit recommendations, along with all supporting documentation, based on detailed risk analysis and clear, concise reasoning.

Conduct credit investigations, security inspections, and searches as required.

Develop and maintain strong business relationships with members that are assigned to the portfolio, including understanding their business needs, aspirations, operations and challenges.

Maintain effective commercial loan auditing control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

Ensure that the timely annual reviews of business loans and deposit accounts is completed to ensure that each service contributes appropriately to revenues and that risk is properly assessed.

Ensure member satisfaction by cross-selling products and service, or referring to appropriate channels as required.

Research and recommend the development of competitive products and services.

Ensure that appropriate technology is utilized in back office administration and service of commercial members.

Mentor less experienced staff in all aspects of commercial banking.

Prepare management reports as required.

Recommend loans for write-off and provide detailed rationale and supporting documentation.

Attend and participate in meetings as required.

Act as an ambassador of PenFinancial by looking for opportunities to promote products and services and seek referrals from members and non-members.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

University Degree preferably in a business-related program

MBA, CFA, or Accounting Designation is an asset

Strong knowledge of financial accounting required

Minimum 3 years experience in Commercial Banking

Displays exceptional interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility and a strong work and service ethic

Demonstrates results orientation in both sales and service

Uses technology to enhance productivity

Committed to continuous personal improvement and continuous learning
