Job Description

Who are we looking for?

You will work within The Project Management Office which provides the stable of Project Managers taking the majority of projects forward for the organisation, as well as project planning, costing and process governance.

This Project Manager role will see you working on a varied portfolio of projects, offering diverse opportunities for a Project Professional looking to progress. You will have passion for ensuring good project management practices and culture.

You will be leading projects which are varied and typically involve the maintenance and enhancement of the two world class fusion devices on site as well as developing new facilities that advance enabling technologies for the international market in fusion development. These projects embody our mission to develop nuclear fusion as a source of energy generation, demonstrating the technology with a view to it ultimately becoming commercialised. 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Execution of projects to a high standard according to established project and technical management processes, leading to delivered solutions to time, cost and quality.
  • Effective communication with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Preparation and maintenance of key documentation.
  • Project oversight and control.
  • Adherence to UKAEA Quality standards and SHE.

 

Qualifications

Essential skills, experience and competence required

  • Track record of delivering complex engineering projects to budget, time and cost.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to make sound economic decisions that maximise project value
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills

Desirable skills, experience and competence

  • Chartered status in relevant STEM discipline Project Management Qualification - e.g PMQ, PRINCE II
  • Good background knowledge and understanding of fusion science and/or technology and engineering
