The Courier products team is responsible for developing and maintaining the app and its backend. The team strives towards an outstanding user experience and builds internal tools for courier life cycle operations. The courier application and tooling are at the heart of Wolt and in a high priority in our product roadmap. The team is based in Helsinki HQ but welcomes a new member to the Helsinki HQ or working entirely remotely elsewhere in Finland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden or Estonia now and in the future! 🌍

The team strives for both technical excellence and thoughtful design. The courier application is crafted to Wolt's partners' needs, and the team is passionate about implementing the code at scale. We currently have about 60,000 + courier partners worldwide and now expanding to new markets monthly. Therefore, it's crucial to make our partners' day-to-day work as enjoyable as possible, having a working solution that scales with the high-speed increase in the number of users! 🚀 The data you get to play around with is diverse, ranging from real-time operations data to masses of historical data to be connected with. You would be one of the critical persons for developing the courier tools' future, helping create tools to balance the demand and supply ratio or implement dataflows between microservices.

The current squad consists of frontend and backend developers, designers, a product lead, and a team lead. You might be the one we are looking for if you are an engineer with strong experience of designing and building top class software. Overall experience in functional programming is a must but more important than any specific programming language is your expertise in building systems at scale. The team is using Scala so experience there comes in handy but is not a requirement. 

We value an attitude of constant improvements and also the ability to create entirely new features from scratch. An entrepreneurial mindset of taking ownership of what you've built is a must. The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter make it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
