 The Project

Sustainable Energy for Smallholder Farmers (SE4SF) in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda is a multi-country project that focuses on addressing the core problem of the lack of access to sustainable and affordable energy technologies and services for productive use of energy (PUE) through development of viable and scalable business cases. These core problems are preventing smallholder farmers and related local businesses of agricultural value chains to achieve increased productivity, higher income and improved, climate-resilient and food-secured livelihoods. The project is jointly implemented with GIZ, hence close collaboration is very important to achieve the intended target.

SNV is seeking experienced and professional applicants for Project Finance Officer position for the Project of SE4SF in Addis Ababa SNV country office.

Job Description

The Project Finance Officer is appointed to the SE4SF project, to facilitate and provide administrative support to the project.

The key roles of the Programme Finance officer,

(1)  linking the project implementation team to support services (HR, Finance, Procurement, Logistics) i.e., playing a pro-active role in submitting relevant documentation to the SNV support services and making a follow-up that the conditions are in place for the services to be delivered.

(2) As a lead country, coordinate the programme admin activities among the three project countries to harmonize the project admin issues across the countries.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

 Master’s degree in financial accounting, development, business studies, management or other relevant technical fields with at least 5 years’ related experience and/or BA degree with at least 10 years relevant experience in general in financial accounting, administration and donor/project contract management, preferably with an INGO in a similar capacity

The position is offered based on a National contract for a term of 1 year with possible extension.
