Job Description

Luckie & Company has a current opening for an Accountant in its finance and accounting team.  The position is in our Birmingham, AL office, but will support each agency location. 

We’re searching for a positive, professional, and collaborative individual with past advertising agency, interactive agency, or professional services accounting experience to join our growing team. Candidates must be comfortable in an agency-client finance environment as well as working closely with agency team members in the account management, digital, media, traffic/production, and creative departments to complete his/her job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end client billing with strict adherence to client contracts, billing procedures, and monthly close checklist processes
  • Work with the client account teams to accurately record monthly revenue recognition to support the monthly close
  • Manage accounts receivables, accounts payables, and expense reimbursement processes
  • Maintain general ledger, ongoing monthly reconciliation schedules, and all associated accounting entries
  • Maintain and recommend proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Payroll, benefits, and human resources compliance reporting
  • Fixed asset reporting and tracking as required with CPA firm
  • Vendor management, reconciliation, and auditing as required
  • Coordinate and complete client reconciliations and internal, external audits as required
  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliations, monthly visa/bank account reconciliations, and accounts payable entries
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests for management, department managers, account management teams, and/or finance
  • Research and prepare accounting variance analysis reports

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • At least 1 year of advertising agency, interactive agency or professional services finance/accounting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience
    • Pivot tables, filters, v-lookups and other advanced data analysis tools
  • Four year college degree in accounting or finance
  • Attention to detail, organized and desire for continuous improvement
  • Sage Intacct, Concur, ADP, WorkFront tools experience a significant plus
  • CPA/CPA candidate, CMA or other finance certifications a plus
