Job Description

Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering and Digital Sciences invites applications for full-time faculty positions in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering to begin as soon as possible. We are primarily interested in candidates for the following positions:

1.      Assistant Professor in Chemical and Materials Engineering (REF: CHME CME)

2.      Assistant Professor in Advanced Energy Materials (REF: CHME AEM)

 We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. A bachelor/diploma and Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field is required for all positions. All applicants are expected to have publications in top ranked journals/conferences in the areas of their expertise and experience in pursuing and obtaining research funding.

The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering has graduated its first UG class in 2015 and has recently moved into brand new 2000 m2 facilities and state of the art laboratories. The Department offers Bachelor's, MSc and PhD programs, and attracts some of the best students in Kazakhstan. Areas of research activity include Chemical Engineering, Advanced Materials Engineering, Materials and Systems for Energy Generation, Conversion and Storage; Environmental Protection, Remediation and Resource Efficiency; Risk Analysis, Aerosol and Climate Sciences; Multiscale Materials Modelling and Processing and Biomedical Engineering. Since Fall 2018, the Department had adopted ABET-compliant undergraduate course of study and a new research-intensive two-year MSc Program in Chemical and Materials Engineering and a second MSc Program in Biomedical Engineering.
