Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Sales/Business Development Manager with a passion to learn and progress quickly, to join our growing Sales team in London.

As a Business Development Manager, you will report directly to a Senior Commercial Director and you will be responsible for new business development across our target markets within the UK and EU, with a focus on Communications Surveillance as we expand our reach in this space.

To be successful in this role, you need to have previous sales or new business development experience, ideally within financial services or e-communications.

We are looking for someone who is target-driven with strong communication skills and is happy to develop relationships from scratch and build up their own network in our industry. We expect you to be a team player and be a key brand ambassador for the company. 

  • New business development across financial services companies both on the buy- and sell-side.
  • Seek out and start to build relationships with the appropriate contacts in these target markets.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers either through your network, via online sources, or act upon qualified leads that come in via our referral partners.
  • Conduct meetings with potential customers and be an ambassador for SteelEye.
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these requirements.
  • Have solid negotiation skills in order to give a steer on pricing and help draw up client contracts and legal documents with support from the wider team.
  • Be confident in doing a demo of our platform and ensuring the right people are on hand to answer more specific technical questions, with direction from your Line Manager.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and networking events where appropriate.
  • Guide the new prospect and clients through the sales cycle ensuring a seamless transition is made to other teams and strive for a great customer experience.
  • Help to plan and support sales campaigns in conjunction with the Marketing team.
  • Build and create your individual sales pipeline working with partners where necessary, working towards exceeding targets as much as possible.

Qualifications

  • Excellent track record within New Business Development/Sales.
  • Have sound knowledge and experience within financial services and/or e-communications.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of financial services regulations are ideal but not essential.
  • Demonstrable track record in exceeding annual targets.
  • In-depth understanding of sales principles and the ability to facilitate meetings with stakeholders is key.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail is important. 
  • A self-starter with prior experience in selling complex technology is preferred.
