Job Description

About This Role  

Biogen seeks an experienced (12+ years of practice) Litigation Counsel to work with the Chief Litigation Counsel in determining strategy and managing litigation matters for Biogen worldwide, including matters related to compliance with healthcare fraud and abuse laws, products liability, securities, collaboration and licensing agreements, intellectual property, and other complex matters.  

The position is based in Cambridge MA and reports to the Chief Litigation Counsel.

What You’ll Do  

  • Set and regularly review litigation strategy with outside counsel, ensure excellent representation, and manage matters to budget
  • Advise Biogen’s senior leaders on litigation strategy and risk management
  • Assist in the management of internal and governmental investigations and promote compliance with the law, industry standards, and company policies

Who You Are 

  • The successful candidate will have excellent academic and professional credentials and at least 12 years of complex litigation practice including trial experience and experience managing litigation and e-discovery teams

Qualifications

Required Skills  

  • Experience representing clients in highly regulated industries required
  • Substantial experience advising senior management on litigation strategy and risk
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in working effectively with people across a wide range of disciplines in the complex corporate environment
  • Law degree and membership in a state bar

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience representing pharmaceutical companies
