Aurora Collegiate Academy is a college preparatory K– 5th grade charter school for underserved children from across Memphis. Aurora Collegiate opened in August 2012. Our mission is to prepare each of our students to enter and excel in a rigorous secondary school and eventually in a 4-year college or university.

Job Description

Essential Functions: (including, but not limited to)

  • Plan and lead development of character education programs, including scheduling, training, and special events for scholars and parents.
  • Manage leadership and training in classroom management issues, supporting teachers with discipline inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to develop a clear professional development schedule- ensuring teacher proficiency on culture expectations.
  •  Developing and sustaining a positive school culture that reflects character education.
  • Provide informal feedback to teachers through the observations and coaching.
  • Make recommendations to the Principal to improve overall school culture.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master’s degree, ability to communicate in Spanish, and a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in an urban district or charter school; is preferred.
