Reporting directly to Upswing’s COO, this role will:

• Collaborate cross-functionally with partner stakeholders to collect and analyze data to develop actionable data insights and recommendations
• Create and deliver presentations that communicate a succinct and compelling business story, driving decisions through research results
• Conduct data research and analysis based on platform user data, data provided by higher education institutions and topic specific requests from partners
• Extract actionable insights from large databases and translate them in lay terms for partners and internal teams
• Help internal teams automate different operational tasks through our Business Intelligence tool
• Consistently track valuable metrics to draw insights about our customer base, sales pipeline, and product usage

You are someone who:

• Has 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role
• Completed an undergraduate degree in mathematics/statistics, economics, business, quantitative sciences or related field
• Has a proficient understanding of SQL (2+ years), Excel, Powerpoint and data visualization
• Has experience manipulating data and running statistical tests with Python (2+ years)
• Has experience with a business intelligence tool (like Periscope/Sisense, Tableau or Looker)
• Is comfortable with quantitative analysis/modeling
• Has a customer-centric, consultative mindset paired with a passion for storytelling, data strategy and analysis
• Is passionate about bringing technology to education and helping to increase retention
• Has experience collaborating effectively with the software development team as well as willingness to work cross-functionally with many teams in the organization

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience with other programming languages including Javascript, C#, HTML, CSS
• Familiarity and/or interest in using machine learning packages for predictive modeling
• Familiarity with ETL best practices
• Have experience with software development lifecycle and Agile development
• Experience working for a high-growth startup
