Job Description

EAG Laboratories is now hiring a Service Engineer to be responsible for maintenance of ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) materials characterization equipment comprising over 20 instruments including SIMS, XPS and AES techniques in EAG’s Princeton NJ facility.
(SIMS – Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry, XPS – X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, AES – Auger Electron Spectroscopy)

The primary responsibility will be hands on repair of mechanical and electronic equipment.  The position also involves participating in development projects to improve instrument performance and create new capabilities, and working with vendors for sourcing and design of replacement parts and materials.

This position requires a BS in Electronics or equivalent trade school or practical experience as well as strong mechanical aptitude.

The engineer be required to work after office hours, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electronics
  • 2+ years of industry experience in analytical equipment repair, both vacuum and electrical.
  • This position requires a solid technical foundation.
  • Good mechanical skills and attention to detail are very important. 
  • Must be able to help in the movement of heavy equipment. The position requires some lifting, bending and climbing.
