Job Description

The Business Account Specialist is PenFinancial’s business account expert, accountable for opening new business accounts across PenFinancial branch network, and assisting our business members with all related services such as Business Mastercard, CAFT, Member Direct Small Business, business cheque orders, and other miscellaneous business account related requests.  Responsible for auditing business account updates (i.e. signer changes, etc.) conducted at PenFinancial branches and serve to support branches with any business account related enquiries.    

Differentiating Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end business account opening process including:
  • Collect and review business documents (articles of incorporation, etc.)
  • Prepare business account opening documents
  • Arrange for member signatures (mostly via e-sign)
  • Input the account on RFS
  • Set up online banking
  • Ensure that all FINTRAC and regulatory requirements with respect to business accounts are met.
  • Provide excellent service to PenFinancial’s business members and make recommendations regarding supplementary banking products.
  • Make referrals to the branch network and/or the Commercial Department when appropriate.
  • Responsible for achieving targets with respect to new business deposits, commercial Mastercards, CAFT, merchant service referrals, business cheques, and other miscellaneous products while achieving set targets with respect to each product and service.
  • Auditing branch updates to business accounts domiciled at the branches.
  • Responsible for covering the Commercial Analyst position during any absences.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    University Degree preferably in a business-related program
•    Experience working with business bank accounts at a Financial Institution.
•    Displays exceptional interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility and a strong work and service ethic 
•    Demonstrates results orientation in both sales and service  
•    Uses technology to enhance productivity 
•    Committed to continuous personal improvement and continuous learning
